Duelling
Duels are a big part of role playing, a duel is merely when two officers, weither they be friends or foe battle it out to see whom is the superior duelist. There are two types of duels, None Role Play and Role Play.
None Role Play - a Duel between two people with in the same force, or a duel between two people whom are rivals of any sort, this is merely a test, and doesn't affect the RPG story itself
Role Play - This is more of the two warriors fighting for their lords, or for even personal reasons, whatever they may be, the winner of the duel gets the losers possessions and the loser will die, be careful when duelling in Role Play for if you make a vital mistake, you'll lose
Hints on how to Duel
Well, remember that a duel is description of character, NOT, description of emotion, the meaning of this is that if you concentrate on how your character feels, or speeches yet you dont go into description on their movements, you've probably lost the duel before it even began.
To be a good Duelist you need three things, the first being good description, you will not win unless you provide back up for your attacks, its advised that you plan your attacks and counters before you start duelling, so you have an idea on what kind of scenario your looking at, the second is having a good imagination, its a lot easier to get out of the way of attacks if you can picture how the battle is flowing, and finally the third is being able to use advantages/disadvantages in your duel, this may be weither your taller then your opponent, or even your sword is slightly longer, these things do take effect when used efficiently, so remember at all times to consider both the landscape on which you fight on, and the bio's you and your opponent has.
Rules for Duelling
God Modding
Yes, no one is actually god, so always remember when your limit is up, if you evade attacks by flying into the skies, moving around a bit, before landing yards away, then your God Modding, simply because its unrealistic, a duel must be realistic, otherwise it gets out of hand...so remember, you are only human
No Consealed Weapons
These are not allowed, for to long i've seen people do this and they've won, for instance if you have a dagger, or throwing knifes state your amount, but remember, if you have them it acts as your secondary weapon, if you are fount consealing a weapon not on your sig then you'll be stopped from the duel, and you'll be both warned and you'll lose your life depending weither it be a role play duel or none role play
No Auto Hitting/Wounding
Yes no auto-hitting or auto-wounding is allowed, this is when you make your attack a direct hit, examples of these are simple.
'Zhang Liao stabbed Liu Bei in the torso'
this is a auto hit, to attack an enemy you must consider all options available to you at that given time, of course you do attack, but you cannot make your attacks a direct hit, though if you do get attacked, like for instance
'Zhang Liao thrusts his spear towards Liu Bei'
then you can do a block, as long as its realistic, for example
'Liu Bei dashed left, evading the attack'
this is allowed due to the fact Zhang Liao never stated were he was attacking and what angle he was striking from, so as you can see, things are easily blocked, it is why these rules must be followed accordingly to increase rping skills
